Before we enter 2024, let’s back up to see the progress of 2023:

1. MovEd started existing from the idea of enhancing the public transportation with digital payments.

2. It deliberately failed because of the red tape, yet the idea for digital transformation is still alive and growing.

3. MovEd changed the idea from the digital solutions provider to the community that is focused on bringing digital transformation & innovation in the world with initiatives to support the tech community.

4. MovEd had the website revamped, changed, destroyed, created around 5 times.

5. MovEd has made an announcement for Alberta’s First GovTech Hackathon in Spring 2024 (more info coming soon!).

6. MovEd acquired Edmonton Tech Wednesdays and now has guest speakers and themes every week.

7. MovEd got the newsletter!

8. MovEd has a new project Talent Pool to connect employers with the jobseekers that are actively engaging with the tech community.

9. MovEd hosted last in 2023 StartupTNT Happy Hours.

10. MovEd had 6+ public presentations in the tech community. (no, that’s not the minimum age of our audience, that’s the amount!)

This week - we had Edmonton Design Movement meet-up at Remedy, where we were focusing on the jobseeking opportunities, building the artistic products with Etsy and the product-market fit, anime and talking about human-centered design.

Next event that we had was Edmonton Tech Wednesdays where I have utilized all my zoomer generational skills to build the awesome video and trying not to be awkward entering GRETA with the camera on before 5:30PM by making a interactive video of how it looks from the perspective of the participant to join Edmonton Tech Wednesdays.

We had people from ERIN (Edmonton Regional Innovation Network), we had a lot of new people, we have some people that actually are finding jobs, we had a lot of people as for the second day after New Year!

The theme of Edmonton Tech Wednesdays this week was Talent Pool - we have amazing people on the list and waiting for the employer to contact them!
